Summer in Review

Lily had a mother's day preschool program.  These three girls were peas in a pod.  So cute!

We had an impromptu photo shoot one morning.  Crazy little kidlets.  Love them!

Lily's preschool fieldtrip to Wheeler Farm.  She learned so much her first year of preschool, she can read, write, and sound out each letter of the alphabet, and she's putting together three letter words.  Thanks Miss Marilyn and Miss Debi!
Lily and I went on a date to Cold Stone and to purchase her a new pair of TOMS.

One morning while getting ready I heard clanking down in the kitchen.  I leaned over the ledge and asked Lily what they were up to.  "We're just eatin' butter!"  No joke.
I had my high school 10 year reunion!  Oh how time flies.
We blessed our sweet Nixon on June 17th, Father's Day.  Always such a special day.
The Olson Family Reunion in Zions.  What a blast spending time with cousins and more extended family!  We love to get together!

We headed down to California at the end of July.  We visited the Reagan National Library, and toured his Air Force One.
We took a ferris wheel ride on the Santa Monica Pier.
We spent another week in Oceanside and enjoyed ice cream at Ruby's on the end of the pier.  Always a fun treat!

Lily started Pre-K.  She's in Miss Leslie's class and is so excited to learn and get ready to go to Kindergarten.

Nixon started rice cereal and LOVES it.  He gets really frustrated if it's not a steady stream of food.  You can't shovel it in fast enough!

Labor Day Weekend was spent at my parents' cabin in Star Valley, Wyoming.  Always fun to be outdoors and spend time with SO MANY cousins!

Pictures out of order:  My sleeping baby.
Buz and I at dinner in Zion's.

For my auntie...

I realize my baby is now 6 weeks old and I haven't posted a single picture of him.

Here he is...

Nixon Charles Slaugh
April 24, 2012, 1:06 p.m.
7 lbs. 7 oz., 20 inches long

Excuses for not posting include:

-The initial pictures were taken on Buz's phone and I don't know how to load them on the computer while he's at work (cause it's not possible:)
-This recovery, not so grand.  I ended up back in the hospital for a couple of days without my baby a week after he was born.  Stupid staph infection.
-Due to the staph infection, and the fact that I now have 3 adorable and wild children 4 and under, I'm a little frazzled.  Sometimes I think, "seriously, we really are crazy."
-Our computer got sick too, and it was admitted to the computer hospital for a few days too.  All sorts of hospital bills around here!
-How could you not just want to hold that baby every chance you get?  It's much more fun than sitting at the computer!

I really will try to post more soon.

And if you feel you need more pics stat, go here:

She's 2!!!

My baby (for 4 more days!) turns 2 today!  She requested pancakes for breakfast, which was a given for her!

This little silly is so sweet and hilarious!  She's also a little bit of a smarty pants too!  She's talking waaaay too much for her age, and it's hilarious to watch her facial expressions when she tells you a story.
We love you Zoe!  Happy Birthday!

4 Years Old

My baby, so proud to be 4 years old.
She had a party at school, Zoe and I snuck in to watch the festivities.
We had a family dinner with my family and had a mass party for Lily, Carter and Millie. Then, on Lily's actual birthday Buz's family came over for cake and ice cream. Then, because you can't have too many parties (but you really can, we did!) we had her little girlfriends over for a tea party...
I haven't taken her to the doctor yet, so I don't know her stats, but she's definitely growing. Taller that is. Still needs to grow a waist!
Lily's smart. A little too smart. She outwits us all too often, but I'm glad she's got the brains to do it.
The other day she was singing a song they learn in school to help them remember what sound each letter of the alphabet makes. She said, "Mom, listen this is funny. 'I know z says z z z, I know y says ya ya ya, I know x says...'" I couldn't keep up to figure out if she was singing the alphabet backwards in correct order, but she was! Little smarty pants :)
Lily is sooo excited to have her baby brother come into our family any day now, and she's prepped me with all of her duties, like taking him out of his crib, handing him to Zoe, bathing him...
uh oh.
I'm so grateful for this little spunky girl in my life, I wouldn't take her any other way.
Love you Luce. Happy Birthday.
