A Half

That's right!!! My baby is now "a half!"  I can't believe how fast the last 6 months have come and gone.  Lily is such a happy and smiley baby and we are so blessed to be her parents.  The latest stats are:
Weight:  12 lbs 9 oz  -  2nd percentile
Length:  25.98 inches - 57th percentile (and as a side note, where do they get the .98?  It's not like the scale is so exact they can see .98 inches!!)
Head:  I don't remember the exact measurement, but it was in the 11th percentile
So, as we have always known, we have a little munchkin!
These days, she does a lot of sitting up, and we do a lot of trying to get her to eat.  If it's veggies it's no biggie, but the fruit is where she struggles.  I thought they told you to start with veggies because the fruit is easy.  HA!
This pic is for daddy.  He feels he needs to push the whole U of U issue on Lily and then she'll bleed Crimson.  I, on the other hand, know that's not how it works.  I'm relying in reverse psychology and the undeniable fact that BYU is just plain better than the U!!
At this point in our lives, Buz has officially started his Master's program, which means he's not working anymore.  And if you're wondering, I'm not working either!!! So, if anyone is interested in playing board games (not BORED games), seriously give us a holler.  (We're open to other cheap forms of entertainment too!)

These are a few of my Favorite Things...

I'm talking things you can go and purchase.  Not like my family, sunrises, the mountains...  Join in, post 5 of your favorite things you probably don't want to live without.  We all might be enlightened with new ideas!
I can't live without my Burt's Bees chapstick.  I use it at night if my lips are chapped, and in the morning, they're smooth as silk!
When changing a poopy diaper, these refreshing wipes seem to mask the awful scent.  AND, Costco sells this exact box.  Gotta love bulk purchases!
I love the PureOlogy hair care line.  It's a little pricy, but the products are so concentrated, I can use a small bottle of shampoo and conditioner for over 6 months!  I just purchased this new product, called PowerDressing, and it is a great body builder, without leaving the feeling of wax in your hair.
More about poopy diapers.  Sorry.  You know when your kid has a disgustingly huge blowout and you find yourself spending hours scrubbing the yellow mess out of their clothes?  Scrub no more!  Leave the clothes in a small tub overnight (or until you get around to doing a load of laundry!) and the poop magically disappears!  This works for just about any stain, but that is my main use.  I also keep the small spray in my diaper bag, more for Buz than anyone!
Lastly, my new found friend.  It's called the Waa Laa Teaser Comb.  Again, a little pricy, but you wear your hair everyday, so you might as well invest in it!  Unless you have perfectly thick and voluminous hair, you probably tease your hair, whether you want to admit it or not.  This find is a great teaser.  And believe me, I've searched for something good.  This is it!

Catch Up

These past few weeks have been a whirlwind adventure.  As many of you know, I am the only one of my siblings that still lives in Utah.  Quite a lonely feeling when you think about it.  So, ALL 3 of my siblings arranged to come out here at the same time!  We had tons of fun, and it's not quite over.
Lily and cute Anna, the oldest of the bunch.
Lily and Carter.  They're two days apart, and had so much fun together.
My parents have a cabin up in Star Valley, Wyoming.  We spent part of our time up there, but unfortunately Anna got the flu the day we went up there, so they couldn't join us, and their trip was cut short.  So, we didn't get any pictures of Lily and her cousin Claire together.  But we still had lots of fun.  This was Lily's first "ride" on the 4-wheelers.
Without a small tub in Wyoming, we decided to bathe Lily in the sink, since it had probably been a good 3 or 4 days since her last bath!  (She never stinks, I swear!)  I'd say she loved it, wouldn't you?
Lily and Carter in their Bumbo's.  Lily is quite the conoisseur of veggies these days.
Thanks for the fun times.  I miss you all already!

Take Me Out To The Ball Game...

We took Lily to her first Bee's game.  She really loved it, had not one fit, and chilled on a blanket in the grass all night.

I'm Alive!!

I made it.  Just barely.  Let me tell you, recovering from a tonsillectomy is not the most fun thing you could spend your summer doing.  One word describes it...misery.  Worse than recovering from having a baby, by far.  Almost worse than pushing for 3 hours while your epidural is wearing off too.  It was 9 days of no talking, no eating, being too afraid to swallow your own spit, sure you're going to cough and then who knows what would happen.  And they tell you the more you eat and swallow the better you'll feel.  HA!  I bet most of those ENT's still have their tonsils, or got them out when they were kids so it wasn't half bad.  However, Saturday morning, I woke up-no pain, just a little weird feeling, but no pain.  It's getting better every day  now.  Still feeling swollen, and I still talk funny.  My sister-in-law thought I was playing a joke on her when we were talking on the phone!
The one good that has come out of it- losing 9 pounds in 9 days.  Talk about an easy way to get rid of the rest of the pregnancy weight.  But take my word for it, I would have rather been up walking every morning instead of sitting in my house in agony.
So, I'm mostly back to normal now.  Sorry I don't have any new pictures to show of Lily, I missed the 4th of July, her 4 month birthday, first rice cereal....what a good Mommy am I!
