3 Months Old!!!

Okay, so Lily actually was 3 months yesterday, but I am admittedly a ditz. I was so focused on the fact that she was born on a Thursday that I was just thinking today she would be 3 months, not yesterday! Oh well. So, I took a few pics of her today so that you can see just how big she is at this moment, since I'm usually behind on my pictures.

New Pictures of Lily

Sorry, I haven't posted any pictures of Lily for quite some time. Here's some more recent pics of our baby girl. I've really been trying to get Lily to laugh, but she's only done it once, and it was only half a laugh. But, she does have quite the cute smile!
Isn't it about nap time? Bless You! I like to catch her moods and expressions!
Lily absolutely LOVES to play under her play-gym. She's gotten so good at making the music go off by hitting the toys!
For Memorial weekend, we went up to Centerville where my dad is buried. Lily had never been here before, so it was really special to get to "introduce" her to her Grandpa Lee (not to be confused with Papa Leigh!). I think that she already knows him a little, she seems to get so excited when I talk about him. We went to the park, the girls hung out while they guys played frisbee golf. I was optimistic thinking the weather would stay nice all day, but it turned quite cold. Good thing Jacy had an extra pair of sweat pants in her bag! They made for a nice and cozy hat!
Blessing Day

Unfortunately Lt John Alley's body was found in or near the ocean by two LDS Missionaries. Thank you for your concern and please keep his wife, who is expecting, and family in your prayers.

PLEASE HELP

I know I emailed some of you about this, but please help. My brother-in-law is in the Air Force, and his good friend, Lt. John Alley, is missing. He was last seen in Pensacola, Florida on May 23rd, which is just this past Friday. His car was found totaled on a scenic highway Saturday morning, but he is no where to be found. He is wearing a green flight suit and may be disoriented, possibly heading to Colorado or UTAH. More information can be read at www.helpfindjohn.info. Here's a picture of him. If you have any inkling you've seen him, go to the website or you can email tips@helpfindjohn.info or call Officer Donahue at (850) 698-1593. Also, if you don't feel weird, I would greatly appreciate it if you could post a short blog. I'm only asking since most of us are in Utah, and if he may be here, why not look out for him? Word of mouth is very powerful, and I just want to do my part for my sister and brother-in-law. Thanks everyone. Love, Katherine

Good Job Babe!

So, not much has changed around our house. As a lot of you know, Buz is currently in his last semester at the University of Utah, getting his Bachelors Degree in Accounting. He is so smart and dedicated to learning and doing the best he can. So, as you can guess by the above picture, he got into BYU's Masters of Accountancy program!!!! I'm sure you can imagine how excited I am, and, I have to admit, a little hopeful I might be able to sway Buz to become a true blue fan! (Yeah right!!!) About a month ago we also heard back from his application to the U's Masters of Accountancy program. Naturally, he got in there too! So, you're all wondering if Buz will leave his comfort zone and head down to Provo aren't you? Well, the answer is..........no! He just can't stand the thought of stepping foot on the BYU campus to go to school. Just kidding, that's not really why. It's exciting enough that Buz is smart enough to get into BYU's program, since it is ranked in the top 5 in the country, I think. But here's the deciding factor....he got a scholarship to the U!!! Since I have quit working to stay home with Lily, it's nice to think we may only have to shell out a minimal amount for tuition every semester. I'm so grateful for Buz's dedication to school and his eagerness to get good grades. Although I wish, a lot of the time, that he were home more and not doing homework all the time, it's starting to pay off, literally. So, for all of you nervous that Buz would be turning true blue, don't worry, he's still crimson red through and through! Congrats Buz, I love you!

So, last weekend we ventured down to St. George. Buz was in a road bike ride called the Cactus Hugger on Saturday, so we decided to make a trip of it. He rode about 55ish miles with his dad, brother-in-law Dave, brother Steve, and Steve's father-in-law and brother-in-law. Quite the crowd, but it was great. Sorry, no pics, I can't seem to even think of getting out of the house any time before noon! It was great to get away, this is the first school break Buz has had in a while where he hasn't had to think...he studied for the GMAT during the past two breaks. So, it was a nice time. We took Lily swimming for the first time. I have a word of advice-no matter how bad you want to take your baby swimming, if she's napping and wakes up for half a second, this is not the time to put her in the pool. She was not the happiest camper the first time around. So, I gave her a day to forget about the awful experience, and tried again. She loved it! It took her a second to figure out what was going on, then she started kicking her legs under water. It was darling! My sister-in-law and her kids also went to St. George, along with my mother-in-law. Here's some cute pics of our adventure.
Getting ready for the pool.
Not so happy with the plans her parents had!
Lily's cousin Beckett decided he really likes Lily. He asks to hold her, kisses her, wraps his arms around her, pats her belly...!
The second try in the pool gave much greater results!
My cute niece Sloane. She loves the water!

Break My Heart!!

So, Lily is now 2 months old! What a milestone. We took her to the doctor yesterday for her well child check-up. Here's the update... She weighs 9lbs exactly, which is still smaller than my brother was when he was born! She's 21 inches long, so she's only grown an inch and a half since she was born. I thought she was a lot longer, but we figure she's just unfolding. So, that puts her in the 9th percentile for her weight and the 6th for her height. I don't know how I got such a little baby, considering that I was 8 lbs 4 oz when I was born, and I was a week early! As most of you already know, it was the first round of immunizations. I think they need a course for parents to prepare you for how awful it is going to be! I thought I could handle it, Lily had to have her heels pricked for the first week we were home because she had jaundice. So I thought, I know how she reacts to pain, I've done this before. My mom even told me it wouldn't be as bad as the heel pricks since they don't have to draw blood out. Well, she was wrong! The nurse grabbed Lily's leg and in went the needle. You would have thought I had a little piglet on my lap, she squealed so loud! And a painful squeal. Then she took a deep breath, started crying, then held her breath...and held it...and held it. Every second her face was getting more and more red, and she had the biggest frown in the world. Still holding that first breath, the nurse started on the second leg. Finally she took another breath, and then it was waterworks. And she's starting to get real tears. Talk about breaking a mother's heart! She seems to be doing well now. Her legs are a little tender to the touch, but she is in good spirits, not fussy or bothered. She's a little trooper! So, for those of you out there that haven't had to do this, prepare yourself for heartbreak.
